LEC and LCS to make triumphant return this weekend

Our one week nightmare has ended.

A small victory against corona virus was desperately needed this week in the sports world. Fortunately, both the LEC and the LCS have found ways to continue their spring split games in an online format. Teams will be playing from their own team houses or a Riot Games studio with regular scheduled matches to resume this coming weekend. Riot games has claimed they believe the European matches can be played with limited latency which is obviously the key to whether or not this works. No comment was made by Riot Games regarding possible latency issues in the North American matches. A revised schedule was released for the LCS which includes moving Monday matches to the Saturday and Sunday dockets.
This is good news don't get me wrong. I know we are all looking for something to watch right now with the sports void in its infancy stage and no end in sight. I will be watching all of these matches and providing gambling insights to help the common man make some cash since we can't gamble on march madness. That being said, I have some serious concerns about the sustainability of this approach, especially once we hit playoffs. The announcements for both leagues included caveats that there would be changes and struggles to online matches. I wonder what will happen if there is a moment of extreme lag. Will the league have the capability to chronobreak the game as they usually do? I for one think that one of the most annoying/hilarious results of online matches will be players bitching on twitter about ping after every game they lose. At first, it will probably be funny, but its going to be incredibly annoying when that is the excuse for every team that loses in playoffs. Although, you can't even say its unjustified. There is so many small moments of lag that make an ability be used a split second after intended or ruin what would have been a perfect sidestep.
As much as I may seem down on the situation, I am hyped for the return of both the LCS and LEC. At least we will have something of substance to gamble on every weekend for the next six weeks. A quick note, I would look real heavy at betting dogs the next few weeks. Bet that +400 moneyline and pray the internet gods are in your favor.
